Error Message in LMS due to File Names Being Too Long

Modified on Wed, 9 Apr at 11:06 AM

Depending on your target system, it may be necessary to pay attention to the length of the file names of the media assets used. During the upload of the package into the Learning Management System, an error message may occur because some Learning Management Systems cannot process file names that are too long. In such cases, the package will not be successfully uploaded to the LMS.
This concerns the file names of the files uploaded in the media form in Knowledgeworker Create. The title of the media asset in the system is not affected. To optimize the media for upload, make sure to use appropriately short file names if possible for your media files. The maximum length of the filenames depends on the specific Learning Management System and its technical setup.
If you want to check all the file names of a course’s media at a glance, you can use the Media Assets tab in the Course Information. You can access the course information via the More menu next to the course.
