There is an issue with SCORM communication. The SCORM API was found, but it could not be initialized.
To investigate the issue, you may need access to the content administration. If you did not provide the content yourself, please contact your content administrator.
Log back into the Learning Management System
If you were logged out of the Learning Management System due to logout, inactivity or other reasons while the content was initializing, you can resolve the issue by following these steps:
- Close the content.
- Log out of the Learning Management System if possible and close the browser window.
- Reopen the Learning Management System.
- Start the content again.
Fixing temporary disruptions
A failed initialization of the content may be caused by connection issues.
Close the content, check your internet connection, and then restart the content.
Resolving SCORM initialization issues
SCORM packages are provided with a communication environment by the Learning Management System, known as the SCORM API. At the start of the interaction with a Learning Management System, the SCORM API is initialized by a call from the content. If this call fails, the content cannot be used reliably.
- Open the SCORM console, SCORM debugger, or SCORM log (depending on the Learning Management System) and track the content startup.
- Check whether the Learning Management System responds to the "initialize" call or if any errors are shown.
- Verify that the Learning Management System responds with the value "true" as defined by SCORM and that this value is of the String data type.
- Contact the Learning Management System provider if you encounter any issues or discrepancies.
