Restoring Older Versions of Media Assets

Modified on Tue, 21 Oct at 3:59 PM

In this article, you will learn how to restore previous versions of media assets by using the history in the media form.

Restoring Older Versions of Media Assets

For example, if an image file was accidentally overwritten, you can restore the desired older version by following these steps:

  1. Open the Media Asset form for the respective media file.
  2. Open the History tab on the left side of the media form.
  3. Find the corresponding entry for the version you want to restore. If a file was uploaded, both filenames are listed in the entry: "Media Asset File changed from [filename] to [filename]."
  4. Download the desired file by clicking on the filename in the history.
  5. Re-upload the file in the media asset form and save the media file.

When working with reused media, bear in mind that the image is now updated in all places where it is used.

Storage Period of Image Media

Image media are stored for 6 months and can be accessed during this period via the History tab in the media form. Versions older than 6 months are deleted from the history. The storage duration may vary for other media types.
