With Knowledgeworker Share, learning content can be easily made accessible to a multilingual audience by translating the posts into different languages. Translate the title, description and the certificate description to provide learners with a learning environment tailored to their language needs.

Creating a multilingual post

First, a post is created in the system’s default language, as described here: Creating posts

The post should not yet be assigned to users in the first step, so that no notification regarding the creation of the post is sent out. The post information is not yet available in multiple languages for the notification. Leave the ‘Category’ field blank for the time being and note the message: ‘0 persons can see your post.’.

Translation

To ensure the best possible learning experience, users should be able to view posts on the learning platform in their chosen language. To do this, edit the new post in the stream or open it in the advanced editor. The following fields can be translated using the globe icon on the right-hand side:

• title
• description
• certificate description

A separate translation can be stored for each available language. If a translation has not been maintained, the value for the default language is used. If changes are made to the translation of the title or description, a notification can optionally be sent to the participants concerned.

Automatic translation of trainings

Multilingual learning content (SCORM and xAPI) can be used to create ‘Training’ posts. The translations for the title and description contained in the attached learning content are automatically added to the post for the available languages.

Available languages

Language settings can be configured in the ‘General’ tab of the system settings. From the list of supported languages, you can select several languages available in the system and set the default language. Posts can be translated into these available languages, and users can select them as their preferred language of the Learning Platform.
